Application of boron carbide in chemical raw materials
Boron carbide powder is activated by halogen. It can be used as boronizing agent for steel and other alloys to boronize steel surface. It can also be used as non-metal additive for some metal-based friction materials. In the reduction-chemical method for preparing boride powder, boron carbide can be used as a boron source to obtain TiB2, ZrB2, CrB2 and other powders.
