The reporter learned from the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) on October 16 that the CSNS detector team has recently successfully prepared a high-performance large-scale boron plating device that meets the needs of neutron detectors using a self-developed magnetron sputtering special device for large-area boron plating. Area boron carbide film sample, the area of ​​a single piece reaches 1500 mm × 500 mm, the film thickness is 1 micron, and the thickness uniformity in the full size range is better than ±1.32%. It is the largest area boron carbide film used for neutron detection in the world.
