Boron Carbide (B₄C) Bulletproof Plate – Applications
Boron carbide bulletproof plates are generally composite armor structures. Boron carbide ceramic serves as the strike face, backed with UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene) or aramid fiber backing layers. Core advantages: Its density is only 2.52 g/cm³, the lowest among mass-produced armor ceramics. It features extremely high hardness and is specially designed against steel-core rifle rounds and armor-piercing projectiles.
✅ Military Protection (Core Market) Individual Ballistic Insert Plates (SAPI Plates) NIJ Level IV / GJB Level III hard armor inserts, compatible with bulletproof vests. They resist 7.62 mm and 5.56 mm steel-core and armor-piercing ammunition. Preferred for special forces and border defense troops. Approximately 30% lighter than alumina plates, reducing load during long marches. Also applied in lightweight ballistic helmets to stop pistol rounds and blast fragments.
Add-on Armor for Light Wheeled Vehicles Modular add-on armor for wheeled armored vehicles, assault vehicles and special protective vehicles. It defeats rifle and machine gun rounds without significantly increasing total vehicle weight, improving mobility and cruising range.
Aerospace Protection Armor for helicopter cockpits and pilot seats. Outstanding weight advantage enables replacement of titanium alloy. It protects against small arms fire and anti-air fragments and cuts aircraft payload loss.
Naval / Coast Guard Protection Protection for cabins and critical components of patrol boats. Corrosion-resistant and suitable for high-salt marine environments.
✅ Civil Security Applications Hard armor inserts for high-risk law enforcement and VIP personal protection Lightweight armor for bulletproof cash transport vehicles and special escort vehicles
